With children
Lake Macha and the beaches in Stare Splavy are the easiest half-day or full-day plan. Add ice cream, a short walk and, depending on weather, a pedal boat or small boat.
With a stroller
The promenade in Stare Splavy and calmer sections around the lake work well for 1 to 2 hours. Choose wider paths and avoid sandy parts after rain.
By bike
The area around Doksy, Stare Splavy and the pine forests offers easy loops for 1 to 3 hours. Families should choose shorter flatter routes; stronger cyclists can head toward Bezdez or Kokorin region.
Swimming
The closest choice is Lake Macha. Main beaches are busier in season, so morning or late afternoon works better for a shorter swim.
Castles and views
Bezdez is a strong viewpoint trip with an uphill walk, usually 2 to 4 hours depending on pace. Houska Castle is a calmer half-day cultural trip and combines well with a drive through Kokorin countryside.
Rainy day
Pick a short cafe stop in Doksy, a car trip through nearby villages or a slow day in the cabin. For longer trips, check current opening hours before leaving.
